Please remember to have the $35 lab fee to my by this Friday (Sep 2). If you need to work out arrangements, just please speak with me so that I will know. I definitely understand that you have gotten a lot of fees right here at the first of the year and will be happy to work with you.
Mark your calendars for RRHS Open House on Monday September 12. The evening will start with a PTSA meeting. Afterward, you will go through the student's entire schedule. I hope to see you in person and meet you then. Watch the school page or check back here for more information.
Finally, I use Moodle quite a bit. I like that I can post assignments and even lessons for students to access from home. In that way, you have access not only to what you need to complete a homework assignment, but you can review the material in which it is taught as well. Unfortunately, RRISD is experienceing some difficulty with the servers that support MOODLE at this time. It is subject to going down and may not be available at all times. Please bear with us as our tech team works to improve the uptime and bandwidth. This is not the norm, and I believe that they will find a solution for us soon.

Drawing Assignment
Moodle is up and down this weekend so that you may have difficulty getting to the drawing assignment. That is not unusual for the first of the year as our technology department works the cobwebs out of the servers and systems that we have. I believe that there are more people using Moodle this year, so the traffic may be more than they anticipated.
Note also that there is a notice posted on the login page of Moodle that it will be down every Friday evening for maintenance (or at least it might be).
In the mean time, you can Google "How to draw a" and then choose your object that you want to draw. You will find similar instructions to the packet that I had in class and posted in Moodle for you. You may choose other objects, the the ones that I had in the packet were: pig, cat, tiger, clown, helicopter, castle, pickup truck, teddy bear, etc. I found these instructions when I Googled "How to draw a pig". (link).

Howdy!
Welcome to RRHS Introduction to Engineering and my Introduction to Engineering blog. I plan to use this site to keep students and parents up to date on what is happening in our class. The Google Calendar on your right will list out assignments and other events related to our class. Details and other information regarding the assignments will be on the Moodle site . You will log in to Moodle using your school computer ID and password.
Once in Moodle, select "All Courses" on the left side and surf to RRHS then Electives and finally find my name. Select the Intro to Engineering course from the list. The enrollment key is "Monday".
Finally, click on these links for a copy of the course syllabus and the computer-use contract.
I am excited and looking forward to this year and what we can all learn together.
